Today we took part in the online training session organized by the Driving Urban Transitions (DUT) European programme, focused on the development of Urban Living Labs (ULLs).
The main goal of the session was to explore how to implement ULLs in different cities, promoting collaboration between citizens, local authorities, and research institutions to address complex urban challenges such as energy transition, sustainable mobility, and urban regeneration.
Participants worked in breakout groups on real-life cases, sharing experiences from across Europe and designing a ULL model in six steps. A very insightful session that will help inspire transformative urban projects.
In the case of DECUB, three ULLs are involved in the cities of Heerlen, Verviers and Zaragoza.
